At the end of the season the Academic Choir and the Academic Orchestra of the University Stuttgart gave a concert at the Beethovensaal of Stuttgart's Liederhalle which was recorded live by our Tonmeister and expert on classical music Daniel Keinath.

The students and alumnis captivated the audience with Gustav Mahler's 1st Symphony in D major. Both ensembles are directed by the University's musical director Veronika Stoertzenbach since 1988 and are comprised of over a hundred musicians each, students and academics who sometimes stay in the ensembles long after graduation.

The soloists Julia Reuter, Marion Eckstein, soprano Sophie Sauter and the tenor Christian Wilms proved their emotional expressivity with "Das klagende Lied", a moving lamentation. The "Titan", the grand finale of the symphony with its broad orchestra sound, then sparked off resounding applause.
