The multinational jazz-combo Aerie impresses with intensive saxophone jazz.
The combo Aerie, consisting of Matt Jacobson (Dr, Irland), Sam Comerford (Tenor Sax, Irland), Laurent Méteaux (Git, Suisse), Peedu Kass (Bass, Estonia) and Ingo Hipp on alto and soprano sax (Germany) was here at our Studio 1 on the last November weekend to record an album with new compositions. The young international combo already had played an eight day tour before heading up to our studio well prepared. While playing experimental as well as catchy tunes the two saxophones were accompanied by the seriously grooving rhythm section, which also showed great individual skills during solistic moments.
Responsible for the musical direction was Tonmeister Philipp Heck, leading the musicians through the recording with creative and supportive advice.
